Intro

Hello Dear Readers!
I just moved to Kevin’s Crossing.  To be more accurate, I’ve carried my three boxes of stuff into my new apartment and signed my lease!  I am here to pursue adventure and the unknown.  The things I like include:
  • Mysteries
  • Making new friends
  • Lists
  • Cryptids
  • Pineapple Soda

I don’t have TV or internet yet but I saw a delightful looking coffee shop on my ride into town.  It’s only a few blocks from my apartment so I walked down here to use their wifi and fortify myself with caffeine.
On my walk, I saw some very interesting street art that will require further investigation.  But I’ll post more about that later.  I plan to keep all of you (assuming that I have more readers than just my little sister.  Hi Susan!) updated regularly on the ongoing in my new hometown!  I’m sure strange and unusual things will begin happening in no time.  I’ll keep you apprised.
Before I forget, let me explain my reasons for moving to Kevin’s Crossing.  I did a web search cross-referencing various supernatural and paranormal phenomenon.  As I continued to narrow my search parameters one town kept coming up until it was the only one: Kevin’s Crossing(formerly Newton).  So I packed up my things, quit my job, bought a one-way bus ticket, said goodbye to my sister and I was on my way.  Now I’m finally here!  It’s surprisingly difficult to find since in most places it’s still known as Newton, even though it changed it’s name decades ago.
I’m already compiling a list of things to look into and post about:
  • Stain in my bathtub that looks like Elvis kissing the Pope.
  • An echo that only speaks German
  • Abandoned Newton Family Mansion
  • Mass Hysteria

I’m sure I’ll have plenty to post about in no time.
Postscript
To anyone that has followed me to this blog from my old blog, TurtleTown, thanks for sticking with me.  And know that this isn't going to be anything like that.
I'll keep you updated.

Quick Update - Future

Hello Dear Readers, Part 1 I didn’t think I’d have new information about that contents of the almanac so soon.  But I do!  Most unexpectedly I got an email from Jan March!  Apparently, it is that time of the month!  Hooray for menstrual cycles!  She says that she still isn’t sure about sharing her journals with me but that she had a vision with pressing information.  This vision filled her such a sense of dread and foreboding that she contacted me as soon as she woke up!             Her vision was about the destruction of Kevin’s Crossing!  In it, she saw the town underwater with torrential rain.  Then everything began to shake and the ground split open and more water came out!  In water dark shaped could be seen swimming out of the cracks in the earth.  She didn’t know what they were, but she said she could feel their hostile intent.       ...

Treakle St.

Hello Dear Readers,             On my way back from the viewing the petroglyphs in the woods, where all the teenagers hang out and do unsupervised teenager things, Tim began telling me the story of Teackle Street.  It was really more of group effort since Tim’s friend Karen and a very pale kid that went by T-Bone, frequently interrupted to add their incites.  So instead of giving you the complete, jumbled transcript, I will summarize the story into something comprehensible.             Apparently, many years ago there was a road named Treakle Street.  It was the only road that lead to the on-ramp for the old highway US 1 that brought most of the traffic and commerce through town.  It was lined with business, shops, warehouses, and hotels.  But the new bypass was put in on the far side of town and traffic began to slow.  As the traffic on Treakl...

Hello Dear Readers, After the encounter with Horatio Grey at the train yard, I decided to take some time off and re-evaluate my approach to uncovering the unknown and the effect it has the new network of friends I’ve been building.  Unfortunately fate had other ideas! I decided to go see a movie.  A favorite American pastime!  (Suzie, remember when we used to sneak out to the movies after Mom and Dad passed out on NyQuil?). Kevin's Crossing has a small art-house movie theater with only one screen.  But it has such a long and dark history that I thought I would save it for another day.  There is a twelve-screen multiplex over in Telford, so I took three buses and arrived at the gleaming edifice of plaster and neon lights.  On the bus ride over I made an effort to count the graffiti I saw.  The ‘Shh’ graffiti seems to be waning currently, which is a good sign for the people of Kevin's Crossing, but I bad sign for me and my handful of readers. Also...
